19-20 September 2022 - Ms. Sonklin Ploymee, Deputy Secretary General of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) visited France on a trip organized by the BOI Paris office to promote the investment opportunities Thailand offers international companies. Ms. Sonklin and her delegation met leading companies in the aerospace, automotive, rail control systems, and renewable electricity generation sectors. The delegation also held talks about investment cooperation with French private sector partners and met Mr. François Corbin, Vice President of the Council of French Employers Abroad (MEDEF International: MEDEFi), to present updated information about Thailand’s investment promotion policies regarding targeted technology-based industries, the tax and non-tax benefits provided by the BOI, and the recent launch of a new visa programme, the “Long-Term Resident”, or LTR, visa" designed to attract high-potential individuals, such as investors, and highly-skilled professionals. Through teleconference, Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Office, also provided the French side with an update on the latest infrastructure and investment developments in the EEC area.
