18 December 2019 - Ms. Duangjai Asawachintachit, Secretary General of the Board of Investment (BOI), at a press conference held after a board meeting chaired by Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, announced that the meeting had approved revised incentives for investment in the Eastern Economic Corridor (“EEC”). The new package extends privileges to investments located outside industrial estates or promoted industrial zones, and offers additional tax incentives to projects in the targeted activities located in the EEC which are engaged in human resource development programs.

The Board also approved four large-scale projects, including an ethanol production project, two automobile and motorcycle tyre production projects and a scrap and waste metal extraction project. The four projects have a combined investment value of 30.17 billion baht.
