2019 - Mr. Narit Therdsteerasukdi, Deputy Secretary General of the Board of
Investment (BOI), led a BOI delegation to visit the operations of the Huawei
OpenLab Center at G Tower, on Ratchadaphisek Road in Bangkok, which is one of
Huawei's BOI promoted projects.
The OpenLab
in Bangkok, which is considered the largest of Huawei’s 12 OpenLabs outside of
China, required a total investment of US15 million. On an area of over 2,000
square meters, the operations of the OpenLab focus on developing solutions for
government and business based on IOT, Big Data, AI and Cloud Computing
technology to meet various needs related to Smart City, Aging Society, Medical
services, Financial Systems and Banking services, Intelligent factories, etc.
In addition,
Huawei has established its regional headquarter for Southeast Asia in Thailand,
in order to serve as a base for corporate governance of Huawei in 10 countries.
Huawei's operations in Thailand also include a Cloud Service Project, a 5G test
project in Sriracha, and the upcoming launch of the first Huawei Academy
outside of China.
