Global Competitiveness on the Rise
Thailand's ranking in the 2008 IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook (WCY), which is acknowledged as a benchmark in ranking global competitiveness of nations, improved six slots to 27th in 2008. The improved global competitiveness ranking reversed a two-year trend that saw Thailand's competitiveness fall from 25th in 2005 to 29th in 2006 and 33rd in 2007.

Policy Updates
As part of Thailand Investment Year, the Board of Investment (BOI) is looking at ways to enhance the investment environment in Thailand. As part of this effort, the BOI and Deputy Prime Minister Suwit Khunkitti met with foreign chambers of commerce in Thailand and is systematically addressing issues raised by the chambers.

SUBCON THAILAND 2008
From 14-17 May 2008, The Board of Investment Unit for Industrial Linkage Development (BUILD) together with CMP Media (Thailand) Co., Ltd. organized ‘SUBCON THAILAND 2008' (SCT '08), Thailand's only industry subcontracting exhibition. This exhibition was an opportunity to improve the systematic and integrated network of industrial linkages and business relationships throughout the country.

Tata Motors
