June 30, 2022 - Mr. Narucha Ruchuphan, Senior Executive Investment Advisor, Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), attended the grand opening of Alibaba's first data center in Thailand at Shangri-La Hotel together with Mr. Selina Yuan, Vice President of Alibaba Group and President of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence International, Dr. Derek Wang, General Manager for Singapore, South Asia and Thailand, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, Mr. Thanasorn Jaidee, President of True Digital Park Co.,Ltd, and Ms. Pornpen Kaewsurapol, General Manger, COM7 Public Company Limited.
Alibaba's data center will provide cloud service in Thailand, which is the 27th cloud region of Alibaba worldwide. The investment in cloud services is enhancing the potential of Thailand's digital infrastructure and help Thailand to become the region’s digital hub.
The data center of Alibaba which has received investment promotion privileges from the BOI is certified with ISO27001 and ISO20000 standards, and complies with Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act and the financial regulations issued by the Bank of Thailand.
