Thailand Remains in Doing Business Top-20
The World Bank has released its 2014 Doing Business rankings, the 11th in its annual series that now compares 189 of the world's economies on topics such as starting a business, dealing with construction permits, registering property, getting credit, protecting investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts, resolving insolvency and getting electricity.

Enhancement of Thailand's Business Environment
On 6 November 2013, the 5th Meeting of the Sub-Committee on Enhancement of Business Environment in Thailand under the Japan Thailand Economic Partnership Agreement (JTEPA) was successfully held at the Sukothai Hotel in Bangkok. It was attended by 115 participants. The Agreement was signed in 2007 in conjunction with the 120th anniversary celebrations of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Japan.

Thailand Meets Challenges Offers Opportunities
Thailand continues to move along a path of economic growth and increasing its attractiveness to foreign investors. The economy has entered a transitional phase with regard to the macro-economic direction of its key industrial sectors, which are now geared towards growth based on knowledge and creativity, rather than the erstwhile attractiveness of low-cost labor. International e-Government Ranking
Earlier in the year, Waseda University's Institute of e-Government released the 2013 Waseda University International e-Government Ranking. This is the ninth such annual ranking, which monitors and surveys the development of e-Government in 55 countries. The research was conducted by Waseda University in cooperation with the International Academy of CIO, and through meetings with international and national organizations including OECD, ITU, and the UN.

Reduction in Income Tax rate
Thailand Cabinet has approved in principle the draft Royal Decree issued under revenue code on decreasing revenue rate, which adjusts the personal income tax rate. The decree adjusts the rate for income tax calculation from 5 rates to 7 rates and reduced the top marginal tax rate from 37 percent to 35 percent.

Global Consumer Confidence Up
Nilesen Holding N.V., a global information and measurement company, has released its Global Consumer Confidence Report for the third quarter of 2013. The survey, which was begin in 2005, measures consumer confidence, major concerns and spending intentions, among respondents with internet access in 60 countries.

Global Energy Architecture Performance Index
The World Economic Forum has released its Global Energy Architecture Performance Index Report 2014. "Energy architecture is defined as the integrated physical system of energy sources, carriers and demand sectors that are shaped by government, industry and civil society" according to the report.
