March 29, 2022 - Ms. Sonklin Ploymee, Deputy Secretary General of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) joined the press conference held to announce the "Cooperation in establishing Bio Base Asia Pilot Plant (BBAPP)", a joint venture between Thailand’s National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and Belgium-based Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant (BBEPP), and expressed the support of the BOI to the initiative.

The BBAPP project will play an important role in supporting and driving the development of bio-based products from the laboratory level to the scale-up level to create innovations and high-value bio-based products in Thailand. The BBAPP project will help Thailand to become the Biorefinery hub of ASEAN by 2027, in line with the key goals of the BCG Model in Energy, Materials and Biochemicals.
