Thailand BOI Roadshow Presents New Investment Promotion Strategy to Japanese Investors
Mr. Narit Therdsteerasukdi, Secretary General of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), led a roadshow to Japan, with Mr. Kanit Sangsubhan and Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, special advisors, Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), and Ms. Nalinee Kanchanamai, Assistant Governor, Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand, to reinforce the bilateral cooperation and to present to Japanese stakeholders an overview of the BOI’s new investment promotion strategy. The delegation, which visited both Tokyo and Osaka, held meeting with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren), the Kansai Economic Federation (Kankeiren), as well as executives of leading companies in the automotive, electrical appliances, agricultural machinery, food processing, chemicals, advanced materials, banking and service industries, all of whom expressed interest and positive feedback about the new investment promotion strategy.
The new investment promotion strategy includes special benefits for existing investors, under the Retention and Expansion measure, and special benefits for the relocation to Thailand of regional offices and R&D centers.
The BOI will hold further discussions with Japanese investors in collaboration with JETRO and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce (JCC) and will organize a seminar about the new investment promotion strategy and measures of special interest to Japanese investors in Thailand on December 19, 2022. In addition, the Japanese Business Confederation (Keidanren) will lead executives from the Thai-Japan Economic and Trade Committee on a visit to Thailand in March 2023.
