On May 13, 2025, The Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) organized a networking session aligned with the SelectUSA Investment Summit activities, during the Thai delegation’s visit to Washington D.C. from 10-14 May 2025. The networking session is aimed at deepening economic ties, attracting investments to Thailand and exploring investment opportunities between Thailand and the U.S.

The event was led by H.E. Dr. Nalinee Taveesin, President of Thai Trade Representatives (TTR), H.E. Mr. Chutintorn Gongsakdi, Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the U.S., in collaboration with Mr. Wirat Tatsaringkansakul, Deputy Secretary General, and with the support by representatives from the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand and executives from the Thai private sector, together with the Washington DC Economic Partnership.

This event brought together Thai private sector representatives and American companies to learn more from a diverse panel of speakers, including representatives from the Washington Economic Development Partnership, top-tier law firms, site selection consultants, and the U.S. distributor of restaurant supplies and equipment. These experts shared insights into the ease of doing business in the U.S. and key regulatory considerations for foreign investors as well as the challenges of doing business in the U.S. caused by tariff uncertainties and other issues.

The event also highlighted a successful Thai business operating in the U.S., which shared its experiences and achievements in the American market. In addition, a Thai startup selected to pitch at SelectUSA 2025 was introduced, offering insights into their experience as a prize-winning innovator seeking market access and expansion opportunities in the U.S.

The primary objective of the event was to foster strategic partnerships between the Thai and U.S. private sectors, facilitate open dialogue, and promote both inbound and outbound investment. Given the specific business and regulatory procedures often involved in cross-border ventures, the session served as a platform to bridge gaps of understanding, create synergies, and support business expansion efforts.

The event was attended by over 35 participants, including senior executives from leading Thai companies such as SCG Packaging, Indorama Ventures, PTT, Thai Summit America Corporation, Thai Union Group, BANPU, and CP Group. The session also brought the U.S. private sector, who expressed strong interest in potential collaboration and future investment opportunities in Thailand.
