5 November 2024 - Thailand Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra held a meeting at Government House in Bangkok with Mr. William Huang, Chairman of GDS International, a leading high-performance data center developer and operator in Asia. The meeting, which was also attended by and other senior executives of GDS and by the Mr. Narit Therdsteerasukdi, Secretary General of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), discussed GDS’ investment in a Hyperscale Data Center in Chonburi Province which was recently approved by the BOI. The management of GDS said this entry into Thailand underscored its commitment to playing a key role in the’ country’s digital transformation, and its confidence in Thailand's thriving digital ecosystem and its emerging position as a regional hub. Prime Minister Paetongtarn pledged full support to the sector which is helping to develop local tech skills create more job opportunities.
